Changes in gem224 28Jan2002 release 1 Port AWAN ATAP flow control (CTS or XON) work more reliably 2 Port AWAN ATAP & GAP Window type 6530: block mode read will complete with fecode 111 when BREAK is received. This is in addition to sending a system break message to the break owner. 3 Port AWAN ATAP new setmode 234 to flush type-ahead buffer on control 11 and on hdx write Comment added 09Jun2002: gem224 was released on 3886-6530 flashram cards starting in 2002. Changes in gem223 01Oct2001 release 1 Port AWAN ATAP & GAP Window type 6530; detect IXF mode to avoid intermittent hanging IXF transfers. This fix detects host-initiated IXF; the gem222 fix detected PC-initiated IXF. Changes in gem222 29Sep2001 release 1 Port AWAN ATAP & GAP Window type 6530; detect IXF mode to avoid intermittent hanging IXF transfers 2 Support for memory dump debugging commands Changes in gem221 06Sep2001 release 1 Port AWAN ATAP with type-ahead disabled (setmode 209,x,0) parity and framing errors received when no read is active will be ignored. 2 The maximum number of GAP connections to an AWAN is increased from 10 to 20. Changes in gem220 16Apr2001 release 1 Port AWAN ATAP & GAP Window type 6530: Setmode 225 is now supported to extend DTR off time on control 12 (scobol reconnect modem) 2 Port AWAN ATAP & GAP Window type 6530: avoid delays at session startup and shutdown in modem environment Changes in gem219 14Mar2001 release 1 Port AWAN T6530: Non-standard host-initiated IXF (esc-V) now terminates properly. Formerly, IXF mode was left in effect which disabled echo of keyboard input. Changes in gem218 05Feb2001 release 1 ATAP setmode 231 p2 units are now 0.01 seconds. P1 still used units of 1.0 seconds. Changes in gem217 22Jan2001 release 1 Includes latest V2.4 changes from DNPG/Cabletron, which are of minor impact to AWAN users. Comment added 09Jun2002: gem217 is the first release to support DS716 and DS732 models which started shipping in 2002 as equivalents to DS700-16 and DS900-TM models. 2 Supports the new GAP A33 configurable timeout. Refer to KEEPALIVE in the GAP manual. The following softdoc item for gem217 was added 05feb2001: 3 When upgrading to gem217, the stored NVRAM configuration is automatically converted to V2.4 format. All existing NVRAM configuration information is maintained. No user action is required. However, if for some reason it is required to fall back to gem216 (or an earlier release), a factory configuration reset is *required*. This is because gem216 (and earlier release) does not recognize the new NVRAM format and will misinterpret some data. Most noticably, remote console telnet access will not work. It is recommended that users make a configuration backups using ASM both before and after upgrading to gem217 (or later) from gem216 (or earlier). Changes in gem216 18Dec2000 release 1 Port Type ATAP - Setmode 231 fix hanging write bug introduced in gem214. Changes in gem215 23Nov2000 release 1 Port Type ATAP - Blank lines (write with zero length) now properly add CR LF when setmode 6,1. 2 Port Type ATAP - Setmode 218,1 no longer ignored. 3 Port Type ATAP - Setmode 27,1 no longer skips first two bytes of output line. Changes in gem214 10Nov2000 release 1 ATAP allows simultaneous control-11 requests fromn the same or different application. Earlier releases would loop messages between GAP and the AWAN. 2 ATAP setmode 10,0 (disable input parity checking) now accepts all incoming characters even if their parity does not match the port configuration for output parity. 3 FASTP ports now abort immediately if RST is received, instead of waiting for all data queued within the AWAN to be printed. A change in Fastptcp D48 sends RST on certain error conditions. Changes in gem213 22AUG2000 release 1 ATAP fix bug where file error 175 (overrun) stopped input until port disconnect (application close) 2 ATAP supports Setmode 10 (disable input parity checking) Changes in gem212 17AUG2000 release 1 ATAP new setmode 231 for half-duplex support 2 ATAP setmode 222 now allows P2 to define ETB character in addition to ETX character for setmode 13 3 ATAP setmode 210,1 now drops DTR and RTS and 210,0 now raises DTS and RTS. The raise/drop was reversed in releases gem207-211. Changes in gem211 10AUG2000 release 1 Port Awan T6530 now allows ITI mode write of ENQ (hex 05) character. This fixes hangs with "Offender". 2 ATAP setmode 13,1 now allows interrupt characters 3 ATAP new setmode 216 p1=4,5 for better control 11/12 4 GAP 6530 fix Viewpt hang (writeread with zero read) Changes in gem210 07AUG2000 release 1 ATAP control 12 no longer hangs when Setmode 225 p1>0. Changes in gem209 27JUL2000 release 1 The remote console (telnet server) port now allows ascii backspace (control-H or hex 08) to function as a logical backspace key in addition to the ascii DEL (hex 7f) key. 2 Initial release of GAP 6530 support for 3886. This is only needed in cases where the standard AWAN 3886 support of 6530 via NSK Telserv cannot be used. This is described in detail in the Gemini GAP manual. 3 A number of fixes and enhancements to GAP ATAP support including modem signal handling and setmode control of port speed, parity, char size, and flow control. These are described in detail in the Gemini GAP manual. Changes in gem208 23JUL2000 release 1 TEDIT would terminate at startup. 3886 did not support ITI mode commands like Read Config with responses longer than approximately 50 bytes. 2 SCF (and some other applications) that use ITI mode read and writeread requests with read maximum longer than 256 would use incorrect setting for ECHO and AUTOLF. This resulted in overprint of the last line of the screen and failure to echo keyboard input. 3 Show Port x AWAN now displays correct port speed for 4800, 2400, 2000, and 1800. This problem only affected the Show Port Awan display, not the basic Show Port display or the actual port speed used. 4 Diagnostic tracing has been greatly improved. Large output messages will be properly traced without duplication of large portions of the trace record. The type-ahead buffer is now traced. All DTR and RTS transitions are traced. 5 T6530 block mode writeread various minor fixes for recovery of timeout and NAK response to write phase. 6 T6530 block mode minor fix for recovery of write adn writeread errors. 7 T6530 treats parity, framing, and overrun errors like BREAK. Previously these errors would be ignored or could (rarely) hang a session. These errors now update the counts in SHOW commands. 8 ATAP changes are described in the GAP manual. @EOF
